Maggie Lee, an international student currently enrolled in Baking and Pastry Arts Management at Centennial College, is the CanadaVisa Scholarship contest December 2017 winner.
The scholarship contest, which is held every month, gives members of the CanadaVisa Study Hub the opportunity to win $500.
Maggie, who is currently residing in Toronto with her husband and three children, was excited to share her reasons for choosing Canada as a study destination and her plan to settle in Canada.
“I chose Canada as a study destination because I like how Canada values diversity, I like the beautiful four seasons (even though winter is can get cold), and I have many good friends here. Canada is familiar grounds as my husband and I completed our undergraduate studies at the University of Ottawa almost 20 years ago.
We now have three children and we strongly believe that Canada is an excellent place for our children to grow up in, hence we came back to Canada in 2016 to pursue Canadian permanent residence and studying in Canada is our immigration route.
My husband completed his post-graduate diploma at York University when we first arrived and is awaiting his Canadian Human Resource Leader (CHRL) designation, and is seeking employment. Now it is my turn to study.”
The CanadaVisa Scholarship Contest is offered through the Study Hub, an online portal exclusively designed for current international students and post-graduate workers in Canada. Members of the Study Hub get access to a wide range of tools and resources to help them make the most of their time in Canada, and pursue work and immigration options after graduation.
“We are living in a nice quiet neighborhood with great neighbors. My children and I are all enjoying our schools and doing well. All in all, our family is loving our new environment. It will be perfect if my husband secures good employment soon. We would love to settle in Canada.
